March – I Quit Netflix for a Month and Why You Should Too

I chose to do this challenge because I have been trying to read more frequently and I have found that after a long day, I usually pop on a show before bed instead of picking up a book. Coincidently, I picked a good month to do this challenge. It was a pretty busy month and I didn’t have a lot of time to sit and watch television and actually, the hardest part was finding the time to read every day. Never the less, I really enjoyed reading every day and discovering new podcasts to listen to this month.

Rules:

  • No Netflix, Television or Youtube videos
  • Reading at least 20 minutes a day
  • Podcasts, audiobooks, and music are allowed

My top 5 books this month

  • You Are a Badass – Jen Sincero (Great tools and topics with a lot of added sass)
  • Big Magic – Elizabeth Gilbert (This is a perfect read for anyone wanting to live a creative life)
  • #GIRLBOSS – Sophia Amoruso (An unconventional and inspiring story about a spunky young woman who created one of the fastest growing retailers in the world from the ground up)
  • Vinyl Café Turns the Page – Stuart McLean (A series of heartwarming short stories about a Canadian family and their hilarious adventures)
  • Memoirs of a Geisha – Arthur Golden (A classic story filled with beautiful descriptions to let your imagination run wild)

My top 5 Podcasts this month

I would really like to continue the habits I made this past month keeping up with my reading however, I am excited about watching a couple documentaries on my list and catching up on some of my favourite shows. I am especially excited for Netflix’s #GIRLBOSS Series.
